Non-residents’ funds in Belarusian banks up 17% in Jan-Jul
Non-residents’ funds Belarusian banks increased 17% in January-July 2010, or by $599.2 million, to U.S. $4.123 billion as of August 1, 2010, a representative in the National Bank told on Thursday.
The share of non-residents funds in banks’ resource base went up to 12.4% as of August 1, 2010 from 12.2% on January 1, 2010.
The share of borrowings from non-residents denominated in foreign currencies was at 99.2%, while resources in Belarusian rubles amounted to 102.1 billion Belarusian rubles (Br), accounting for 0.8%.
Non-residents’ direct equity contributions to Belarusian banks were up 25.5% in January-July to the equivalent of 2.782 trillion rubles.
As a result, non-resident’s equity contributions and funds in liabilities of Belarusian banks totaled 15.149 trillion rubles as of August 1, up 10% in January-July. (Br3,012 - U.S. $1)
