Belarus’ foreign trade swings to $123.7 mln surplus in Jan 2010
Belarusian foreign trade surplus amounted to U.S. $123.7 million in January 2010, compared to a deficit of $323.9 million in January 2009, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.
Overall turnover of commodities and services reached $4.035 billion in January 2010, up 18.1% on the year.
Exports of commodities and services increased 34.5% to $2.079 billion, and imports increased 4.6% to $1.956 billion.
Commodity trade deficit reached $16.5 million in the first month of the year ($1.781 billion of exports and $1.797 billion of imports), and service trade surplus amounted to $140.2 million ($298.8 million of exports and $158.6 million).
