Khrol: next Union State Council of Ministers session slated for March, 16
The next session of the Union State Council of Ministers is scheduled to take place in Belarus’ Brest on March 16; Prime Ministers Vladimir Putin and Sergei Sidorsky will consider the issue of transfer of border control to the outer border of the Union State, Deputy State Secretary of the Union State Vasily Khrol told reporters.
The agenda for the session includes the draft program of expanded cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the energy sector, however, “the issue is not ready yet,” Khrol said.
“Some crucial provisions must be decided at the level of deputy prime ministers,” Khrol said, adding that if Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin to negotiate the unconcerted positions by March 16, the draft program could be considered at the next session of the Union State government.
The program encompasses Belarusian-Russian relations in the gas and petrochemical sectors, nuclear power engineering and supplies of energy resources.
