| Belarusian companies’ currency proceeds up 10.6% on yr in January
|

Belarusian companies’ foreign currency proceeds increased 10.6% on the year in 2009 to U.S. $1.692 billion, an official with the National Bank of Belarus (NBB)’s information department reported.
Of the total amount, commodity export proceeds increased 4.4% on the year in January to $1.326 billion, services export proceeds went up 44.1% to $352.076 million, proceeds from domestic trade for foreign exchange fell 17.8% to $11.485 million. Other proceeds increased 97.4% to $2.31 million.
The share of commodity export proceeds stood at 78.4% of the total foreign proceeds as of February 1, 2010, down 4.6 percentage points year-on-year, service export proceeds at 20.8%, up 4.8 percentage points.
Proceeds from domestic trade for foreign exchange increased accounted for 0.7%, down 0.2 of a percentage point. The share of other proceeds was unchanged, at 0.1%.
Corporate foreign currency proceeds from the CIS rose 75% on the year in January 2010 to $833.744 billion, including proceeds from Russia at $563.973 million, up 40.8% on the year.
Belarus companies’ currency proceeds from non-CIS countries went down 18.6% on the year in the period to $858.058 million.
In total currency proceeds, the share of the U.S. dollar increased 7.1 percentage points from February 1, 2010 to 46.2% as of February 1, 2010, the share of the Russian ruble increased 7.6 percentage points to 30.6%, the share of the euro went down 14.5 percentage points to 21.9%, the share of the Belarusian ruble was at 0.5%, down from 0.6%, and the share of other currencies was at 0.8%, showing no change
In 2009, currency proceeds of Belarusian companies fell 31.4% to $25.911 billion.
