Priorbank Joint Stock Company was established in January 1989.
Among the first founders of the Bank were Minsk Automobile Plant, PA Horizont, PA Tractor Plant, PA Belorusneft, and Gomel Oil Transport Enterprise Druzhba.
Later, SPA Azot, Belarusian Metallurgical Plant, FE Belwest and a number of large state owned and private companies became shareholders of Priorbank.
In 1997 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development became a shareholder of Priorbank. In June 1998 EBRD bought the 6th issue of shares having increased its share of the authorised capital of Priorbank to 27%.
In January 2003 Raiffeisen International Beteiligungs AG bought 50% of Priorbank shares, and later increased its share holding to 63.05%.
In the period between 2003 to 2008 Raiffeisen International Bank Holding AG increased the stake in the bank's capital by purchasing shares on the secondary market.
In August, 2008 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development sold its shares and left the bank's shareholders list.
At the end of 2010 Raiffeisen International AG was renamed into Raiffeisen Bank International AG.
The beneficiary owner of Priorbank JSC is Raiffeisen Landesbanken Holding AG, Austria.
